crossroads Saturday, September 11, 2004 mood:
i wonder how it is to actually LOVE your job. to actually get up early in the morning, realize you're going to work, and say "oh boy, i can't wait to start my job!" then prance happily into the shower. it's not that i hate my job now. at most, we just have this love-hate relationship. i love it that i get paid twice a month, and i hate it that they (meaning, the company) just really bleed you dry. oh ok, so maybe it's not THAT bad... i have my good, not-so-good, and bad days. the good days are when i'm doing training, and i'm so concentrated on sharing knowledge that everything else just blurs. deadlines, deliverables, meetings, reports -- swoosh! out the window! the world is now relegated to that training room where i know i am doing something with purpose. there are some bad apples in the basket, but nonetheless, the experience is quite something. it gives me a sense of pride and anxiety when training ends and i have to let my trainees go to finally experience everything on their own...like a mother herding her young 'uns out into the big bad city. the not-so-good days are the good ones that end up getting spoiled by a bad incident or two. you still have a little bit of that good feeling inside, but there is a bitter aftertaste to it. and the bad days? oh, there are just too many things that contribute to get there. they're just little ones, but a gazillion little ones put together is something else. anyway, i decided to write about work today because i got some pretty great news from my boss the other day, and i'm starting to wonder if i'm close to actually loving my job. turns out that the position that i've been eyeing (salivating over is more like it) will soon be mine. sooner than i ever imagined. like in the next two weeks soon. hu-WOW! since i don't have much details on this yet, let me end this here. more updates coming. it will soon be mine. MINE. MINE!!! bwarharharharhar... |
